Define Safety

Legally it has a definition. After reading this, please try to define Crime. This is not a legal article. Read this carefully three times before you define Crime. Take your time.

Six men marched through the school gate with swords and sticks with tense expressions. The entire primary school watched the procession bewildered. They approached Joy, a young energetic history teacher while he was in the middle of a lesson. They chopped his head off. They swung the swords three times to separate the head from the body. The terrified students started screaming and running aimlessly. The stream of blood and the horror blinded them. They had no idea where to run. They could not find safety in this school. Wide eyed panic stricken children ran and ran until they reached home to safety.

All those teachers and students were speechless for a while. They lost their voice. Nobody spoke. The world stood still, motionless. The murderers ran out of the gate very nervous. Within the next hour the terrifying news flashed through the entire region. Every one in the area rushed to see the scene of the crime. The shocking scene of the headless body got engraved on their minds. The parents held their children tight, close to their body.

Police registered the case and arrested the culprits. The lower court tried them. The ten year old children were eye witnesses. The verdict was to hang them. The murderers appealed to the higher court. And again the death sentence was awarded. These cold blooded killers had political backing. It is said that the slaughtered teacher was their political enemy. The parents, only some of them, encouraged their children to speak the truth. These children maintained their stand in the court. They repeated their statements in the higher courts. The politicians ordered their followers to collect money from the public by force to spend it on the lawyers to defend the murderers. The followers threatened and black mailed the same public, the same parents and the families of the students of the same school and extracted large sums of money.

It is not known how the huge amount of money was spent. The highest court of law released the criminals free, except one who swung the sword first. The assassins were given a big welcome. They were garlanded and escorted in procession with bouquets in their hands.

The advocates who appeared on behalf of the defendants received so much of money they do not know what to do with it. Their children, grand children and great grand children will inherit a lot of filthy wealth.
